One of the most important components in any digital exchange of confidential data, whether in retail, etail, banking or insurance, is facilitating secure electronic transfer of information. The range of network activities spans from e-commerce and internet banking to confidential emailing, remote network access and remote document signing. TLS/SSL certificates create a foundation of trust by establishing an encrypted connection between a website/server and a browser with what’s known as an «SSL handshake». High-assurance TLS certificates also include extensive, standardized validation of the website owner’s identity to assure web users that they are interacting with the authentic website and not a fraudulent one. Beyond websites, digital certificates secure all types of connected devices and data in transit.

The most innovative companies, including 89% of the Fortune 500 and 97 of the 100 top global banks, choose DigiCert for its expertise in identity and encryption for web servers and Internet of Things devices. The company is recognized for its enterprise-grade certificate management platform, fast and knowledgeable customer support, and market-leading security solutions.
